An FAQ page AI assistants can actually use

PocketBees · 21 Oct 2026 · 2 min read
In short

Write 8 to 12 questions your customers really ask, answer each in a few plain sentences, put them on one crawlable page, and add FAQPage schema that matches the visible text exactly.

When people ask an AI assistant about a business, it looks for pages that answer the question plainly. A good FAQ page is exactly that: real questions, each with a short, direct answer, on a page that crawlers can read.

Start from real questions

Look at what customers actually ask you: support emails, sales calls, chat logs, the questions in reviews. Good candidates are about price, delivery, refunds, who it's for, how long it takes and how you compare. Skip questions nobody asks just to fit a keyword.

Eight to twelve is plenty to start with.

Write answers that stand on their own

Each answer should make sense if it's the only thing someone reads:

  • Answer in the first sentence, then add detail.
  • Use the same words your customers use.
  • Keep numbers, prices and policies current, and the same as on your other pages.

Make it readable by crawlers

  • Put it at a simple address such as /faq, linked from your footer.
  • Make sure the questions and answers are in the HTML the server sends, not only loaded later by JavaScript.
  • Add it to your sitemap.

Add FAQPage schema, honestly

FAQPage structured data describes the questions and answers in a format machines read directly. Two rules matter:

  1. It must match what's visible on the page, word for word. Don't add questions to the markup that visitors can't see.
  2. Use one FAQPage block for the page, not one per question.

Since 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results mainly for well-known government and health sites, so for most businesses the markup won't change how the result looks in Google. It still gives search engines and AI tools an unambiguous version of your answers, and the page itself is what does most of the work.

Try it with your agent

# Task
Create /faq with 8-12 real customer questions. Add one
FAQPage JSON-LD block using only the visible Q&As. Make sure
the page is server-rendered and listed in the sitemap.

# Done when
/faq returns 200 and includes FAQPage JSON-LD matching the
visible questions.

PocketBees checks for an FAQ page and its schema on every scan.
